The Social Network stars Jesse Eisenberg as Mark Zuckerberg, the creator of Facebook. It follows how Zuckerberg went from being a Harvard undergrad in 2003 to the youngest billionaire in history just six years later, because that’s where things get interesting.
Eisenberg will be joined by Andrew Garfield (Spider-Man), Rashida Jones (The Office), and Justin Timberlake, and Brenda Song (Suite Life On Deck) in the film, which was scripted by Aaron Sorkin of The West Wing fame. Sorkin based his screenplay off author Ben Mezrich’s non-fiction work, The Accidental Billionaires.
Unfortunately the real Mark Zuckerberg does not support the film at all, and has no plans to see it. He says "the movie looks interesting but the story is a stretch, the real story is actually very boring". "It was really just us sitting on computers coding for six years". Co-founder Eduardo Saverin also has no interest in the film but has been less public about it. The film was scripted by Aaron Sorkin of The West Wing fame. Sorkin based his screenplay off author Ben Mezrich’s non-fiction work, The Accidental Billionaires.
A new, 60-second long TV spot for the film has made its way online and shows more of the behind-the-scenes Facebook drama that was on display in The Social Network official trailer.
The Social Network will arrive in theaters in the U.S. on October 1st, 2010.
