International And Third Trailers For 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' Drop Along With An Official New Poster

Well I guess good things actually do come to those who wait (Until 3 AM), because Marvel has decided to put not just one, but two Spider-Man: Homecoming trailers on the web. Both trailers tease the light and humorous tone we were expecting from the film, but also a lot more details on how Spider-Man's suit works, his time during Civil War, and Vulture's vendetta against Tony Stark. The studio has also released the official poster for the movie along with these trailers, and its certainly not as impressive. This will probably be one of the last reveals we are getting until Homecoming hits theaters this July, so enjoy.

Below is the official third trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming:

And here's the official international third trailer:
And here's the new (Awkwardly photoshopped) poster (Click to enlarge):
So right off the bat the trailers show us a lot of the footage we've already seen, mainly between Peter Parker and supporting characters like Ned (Jacob Batalon), Liz Allen (Laura Harrier), Michelle (Zendaya), and of course Tony Stark. But we get an interesting look at all the tech Tony has added into Spider-Man's suit and all the cool features it comes with, including some locked abilities cleverly titled "training wheels". We also see a significant amount of Jon Favreau's Happy Hogan, the body guard of Tony Stark who seems to be very involved with the movie's plot.
We also get some references to the Civil War battle, including Peter's recording and recounting of the events, as well as some actual POV shots. It'll be interesting to see just how much time is spent on these flashbacks, or whether it will just be the opening of the movie. The hotel scene between Peter and Happy Hogan is also presumably during this time, when he was in Germany for the eventual airport battle. There seems to be a strong stress on how excited Peter is to not only be a superhero, but also to be interacting with Avengers members, which is something we haven't had a chance to see with past iterations of the character.
So what did you think of the Spider-Man: Homecoming trailers? Are you excited for the movie? Let us know below!

Tom Holland Will Play A Young Nathan Drake In Sony's Movie Adaption Of The 'Uncharted' Video Games

Its no surprise that Sony is currently very hyped on their Spider-Man Tom Holland, but it is surprising that the studio has decided to cast the actor as Nathan Drake in Uncharted. The character you is usually portrayed as a modern day Indiana Jones type, will be played by the twenty year old in their big screen adaption of the popular video game. The movie will apparently focus on the young Nathan Drake that we've gotten glimpses of in the games, and will act as more of a prequel to Uncharted. This news has already upset many fans who were expecting a direct adaption of the games starring an adult Drake.

Deadline broke the news that Sony has cast Holland as the lead in the film set to be directed by Stranger Things producer Shawn Levy. Many thought that Holland would simply be playing the role of the young Drake in flashbacks, similar to how River Phoenix played a young Indiana Jones in the beginning of The Last Crusade, but the website made clear that this isn't the case. This is also the way the young version of the character was handled in the games, including when we saw him with his younger brother Sam, and when we saw how he met he eventual partner in crime Sully.
Holland has of course proven himself as Sony's new Spider-Man, so the studio has understandable confidence in him leading another one of their major franchises. Its unknown whether we will see Holland grow into the role of an adult Drake across several films, or if they'll eventually cast an older version of the character. There has been several names tossed around including Holland's fellow MCU member Chris Pratt, but the studio is likely not focused on the adult version of the character at this time.
Now that fans have their Nathan Drake (Sort of), we can expect some other younger versions of characters key to his past will be cast in the coming months. Sully is of course one of the most important, as he meets a young Nathan and serves as his mentor and father figure. There's also his older brother Sam, who plays an important role in the fourth game and in Nathan's childhood. I'd personally love to see Karl Urban (Star Trek) as a young Sully, and Nick Robinson (Jurassic World) as the older brother to Holland's Nathan.
So do you like the idea of Tom Holland in as a young Nathan Drake? Who would you like to see as a young Sully and Sam? Let us know below!

Sony Casts Tom Hardy As 'Venom' With Ruben Fleischer As Director And A 2018 Release Date

Sony decided to break some exciting and shocking news when they announced that acclaimed actor Tom Hardy has been cast as the new Eddie Brock aka Venom. Fans will remember that this isn't the first time we will get a live action Venom, as the character was featured in Spider-Man 3 but didn't feel true to his comic book self. Not only did the studio announce that such a big name and proven actor would be playing the title role, but they also announced that Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer is in final negotiations to helm the project which is set for a late 2018 release.

While Sony has been talking about making a solo Venom movie since back when The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was in production, not much had been heard about the project. Well this news has certainly made it clear that the studio is taking the project seriously, and has made it a priority to bring on big names and get the movies in theaters sooner rather later. There had been no rumored shortlists for Eddie Brock or the directing gig, so the news came as a shock to just about everyone that has been following this project.

Sadly for fans who were hoping to see Tom Holland's Spider-Man square off against Hardy's Venom, this film will reportedly not be taking place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will instead be a start of Sony's own new universe. The studio is going for an R-rating in the vein of Fox's Logan and Deadpool, which will allow them to go much darker and violent which suits both the character and actor playing him. But this tone unfortunately doesn't fit in well with Disney's much lighter take on Spider-Man, which is most likely why the studio elected to keep the two separate. It'll be interesting to see who Venom's enemy will be and how they'll change his origins considering the absence of Spider-Man.
Hardy's casting is sure to get many skeptics of the project excited, as the actor has projects such as The Revenant, Inception, Warrior, Mad Max: Fury Road, and The Dark Knight Rises under his belt. He has proven he can play darker complex and badass characters very well, which is a perfect fit for Venom. We can surely expect something very different from Topher Grace's Eddie Brock is Spider-Man 3, who was more of a jealous immoral version of Peter Parker.  Director Ruben Fleischer on the other hand is certainly less proven, with his second film Gangster Squad falling very far from the success he had with Zombieland. We can only hope he's able to recapture that R-rated magic with this project.
So how do you feel about Tom Hardy playing Venom? Are you disappointed he won't be a part of the MCU? Let us know below!

Zack Snyder Exits 'Justice League' Due To A Family Tragedy; Joss Whedon Has Replaced Him

In a very sad and surprising turn of events, Warner Bros. and Zack Snyder have announced the director's departure from the upcoming superhero team-up film Justice League. Snyder has left to spend time with his family following the suicide of his daughter this past March, and will not be directing the film's additional scenes. Instead the studio has brought on Avengers director Joss Whedon to complete the movie and direct the scenes that have yet to be filmed. It has been stressed that this will still very much be Zack's movie, and he is simply passing the baton to Whedon during his time of mourning.

First off before we get in the business and film related parts of the story, I'd like to send my thoughts and prayers to Zack Snyder and his family following such a tragic loss. I may not have been the biggest fan of Batman v. Superman or some of his past projects, but I have nothing but respect for Snyder and it pains me to think of what he must be going through at this time. I'm sure as much as he cared about doing the film justice, his family and personal life are much more important at the moment. When speaking to The Hollywood Reporter about the matter, the director stated the following:

“In my mind, I thought it was a cathartic thing to go back to work, to just bury myself and see if that was way through it. The demands of this job are pretty intense. It is all consuming. And in the last two months I’ve come to the realization …I’ve decided to take a step back from the movie to be with my family, be with my kids, who really need me. They are all having a hard time. I’m having a hard time.”

The studio has made the interesting decision of not delaying the movie but instead replacing Snyder, at the request of the director himself. Most of the movie has apparently been completed, but we have heard about reshoots and additional scenes that have yet to be filmed. Whedon has of course proven that he is more than capable of handling an ensemble group of superheroes as he already did it for Marvel with The Avengers, and its interesting the director will now be attached to both of the competitor's films.
Warner Bros. president Toby Emmerich has made it very clear that the movie will be completed in Snyder's vision, and Whedon won't be changing up anything. Whedon had actually already been involved with the movie, as he was helping with rewrites and scripting the new scenes following a studio test screening of Justice League. Emmerich has stressed that no new characters will be added, and the directing will stick to Snyder's style and tone.
Once again my thoughts are with Zack and his family, and best of luck to Joss Whedon. How do you feel about this tragic news and turn of events? Let us know below
