Multitude Of 'Justice League' Details Revealed; Will All Be One Film With Steppenwolf As The Villain

Comic-Con may be just right around the corner, but it appears Zack Snyder and the folks over at DC couldn't wait till then to drop the latest on the upcoming Justice League movie. Following the generally negative reaction to Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Snyder and co. have been making a conscious effort to keep both fans and general audiences excited for whats to come in the DC Expanded Universe. Several journalists from big movie sites (Sadly no invite for us, what's up with that Zack Snyder?) were allowed to visit the set of the upcoming team-up film and they revealed several juicy new details about the movie that are sure to get everyone talking.

There's a lot of cover here of course so we'll get the simple stuff out of the way first, and by that I mean the least interesting. For one thing it was revealed that Justice League will be a standalone movie and won't be split into two parts like it was previously reported it would. The team itself seems to be set at Batman, Flash, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Aquaman, and a yet to be revived Superman, with no mention of Green Lantern from any of these set reports. While it was rumored he would appear in the second Justice League film, this hasn't been confirmed by anyone over at DC. Below you can also see the official logo for the film that you saw at the start of this article:
Now there's so much information to put together here so I've organized it into bullets below, but just to briefly summarize we now know that the film's villain will be Darkseid's nephew Steppenwolf.
He has yet to be cast, but the character will be coming to Earth with his army of parademons to retrieve a motherbox while the other two are in Atlantis and Themyscira. We also now finally know who Willem Dafoe is playing in the film, and it'll be the Atlantean Vulko who shares a close relationship with Aquaman. The film was also have a lighter tone than Batman v. Superman, and Ezra Miller's Flash will providing much of the comedic relief. Below is the collection of all the details put together from each sites set visit:

  • Batman will be a changed man in this movie following the death of Superman, and this inspires him to put together the team. He won't be as dark of a person, yet he'll be seeking redemption. The first half of the film will deal with this with Superman most likely returning to fight alongside the league in the second half. Its rumored that he'll return with a mullet and black suit like he did in the famous Death of Superman comic series.
  • While the film is in fact a standalone, Snyder made it clear that the movie doesn't just end right there and there's more story to tell. He also confirmed that there is still a second film set at the same release date it was initially announced for.
  • Snyder admits he was caught off guard by the reactions to Batman v. Superman and it forced him to make changes to Justice League and its tone will be very different than that of the former.
  • Flash's costume is reportedly made from space suit and ship parts with over 148 pieces put together. Collider believes just the cowl itself includes 70 different pieces. He'll apparently be getting an upgraded suit later in the film courtesy of Batman.
  • Cyborg's suit will be basically 90% CGI all the way from the neck down.
  • Batman will also have a new Batmobile which a photo was released of, as well as a new version of his armored suit. He'll also have two new vehicles one a jet called The Flying Fox, another called Nightcrawler which was designed by his father.
  • Ben Affleck once again confirmed he's working on a Batman solo film with Geoff Johns but claims it probably won't make its proposed release date as they aren't done with the script as he still doesn't feel happy with it yet.
  • J.K. Simmons will have the classic Jim Gordon look and mustache in the film.
  • Junkie XL (Mad Max: Fury Road) is returning to provide the film's score, but its still unknown whether Hans Zimmer will also be returning.
The new Batmobile mentioned above
So there you have it, those are all the big take aways we got for the collection of details given by different sites across the web. Most of it fits pretty in line with what we would expect from where Batman v. Superman left off, as well as the improvements Snyder needs to make for the ensemble film. Certain things that are a bit surprising are of course the choice to go with Steppenwolf and the villain rather than Darkseid, which means they have plans for the big bad. Steppenwolf will be working for Darkseid to some capacity, similar to how Loki worked for Thanos in the first Avengers movie. The character was originally included in a scene being discovered by Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor in Dawn of Justice, but it was ultimately cut from the movie.
Many of the sites all stressed just how fun and light the tone of the movie feels, especially thanks to Ezra Miller's Flash. It seems like he'll really be the big scene stealer here much like Spider-Man in Civil War, and it seems he'll have a strong bromance going on with Cyborg. He apparently shares a great scene with Batman when he shows up at his apartment to recruit him for the Justice League, where he apparently brings up the security camera footage of him seen in Dawn of Justice. Barry apparently tries to play it off as if he has no idea what he's talking about, and most of the sites credited Ezra Miller's comedic timing opposite Ben Affleck's straight man to be what made the scene work so well.
So what do you think of all these new Justice League details? Do they make you more excited for the movie? Do you feel Snyder is headed in the right direction? Let us know below!

'Spider-Man: Homecoming' Begins Filming; Set Photos And Several Cast Additions Revealed

Peter Parker Running
As expected, its time for our weekly ten new additions to the Spider-Man: Homecoming class. In all seriousness, following this post I think we should have a general idea of everyone who will be starring in the film. But who knows, the studio may still have some key characters to cast and surprises in store. Following the addition of several big name actors including Michael Keaton, Donald Glover, Martin Starr, and Logan Marshall-GreenHomecoming hasn't stopped adding on more and more talent to this cast. Now that it has finally begun filming, we have our first set photos of the film that give us some details about the characters these actor will be playing, and what to expect from Peter Parker's latest outing.

So far all of the set photos have been taken on the Atlanta set of Spider-Man: Homecoming, in the high school Peter Parker will be attending. While not every cast member is seen in these photos we do of course see Tom Holland, Zendaya, Martin Starr, Laura Harrier, Michael Barbieri, Tony Revolori, and Kenneth Choi. We also see several new cast additions including Selenis Leyva (Orange Is the New Black), Abraham Attah (Beasts of No Nation), and Isabella Amara (The Boss). Take a look at all the set photos for yourself below:

Peter Parker's Classmates
Alright so just to make things clear, we really have no idea who any of these actors are playing aside from Tom Holland. The only other piece of information we've had to go by is that Zendaya will be playing a character name Michelle, and Tony Revolori will be playing a character named Manuel, both of which may just be fake names. But what we can gather from these pictures is that everyone in them is most likely playing either fellow classmates of Peter, or his teachers. Martin Starr and Selenis Levya (Orange is the New Black)both seem to be playing some kind of teachers, while we know Kenneth Choi will be the principal of the school. Barbieri, Zendaya, Revolori, Harrier, Amara, and Attah all seem to be classmates of Peter.
Peter Parker In Midtown High School
Judging by Peter's t-shirt in the first few pictures, he'll apparently be attending the "Midtown School of Science and Technology" rather than plain old Midtown High from the comics. This is more than likely some sort of magnet school that specializes in Peter's interest, and maybe he was given the opportunity to attend the school thanks to his relationship with Tony Stark. Peter is of course very gifted in science, so it isn't hard to imagine a modern day version of the character attending a school more advanced than any other in its curriculum. It does make me wonder if we will see Gwen Stacy as one of his classmates, given her intelligence and interest in science in the comics. But it doesn't seem likely considering how recently the character appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man films.
Peter and Gwen
Other cast members that have come on board include young stars J.J. Totah and Jorge Lendeborg Jr., who are also practically guaranteed to play other students at the school. Michael Mando of Better Call Saul fame has come on board in an unspecified role, and Bookem Woodmine (Fargo) will be playing yet another villain in the film (With Keaton and Marshall-Green already rumored to play villains themselves). Lastly comedian Hannibal Buress (Neighbors) will be joining the cast, and my guess is he'll be playing the chill security guard at Peter's school that always lets him cut class when he has to go off and fight crime spontaneously.

So there you have it. What do you think of the Spider-Man: Homecoming cast so far? Any guesses as to who any of these actors are playing? Let us know below!

'Spider-Man: Homecoming' Enlists Martin Starr And Logan Marshall-Green As One Of Its Villains

Martin Starr Logan Marshall-Green Spider-Man: Homecoming
Alright, so didn't I just write a post about someone being cast in Spider-Man: Homecoming? Seriously, I feel like our entire homepage is full of casting news for this movie. Anyway, the cast Jon Watts and Marvel have been putting together for their upcoming Spidey film has been nothing short of impressive, and apparently they aren't done adding big names to the project just yet.
New reports indicate that Silicon Valley's Martin Starr will be starring in the film, as will Logan Marshall-Green (Prometheus) in a villain role.

The news of Starr's casting come courtesy of Deadline, and as has been the case with many of these cast additions his role is still unknown. There are of course several possibilities, including a high school teacher of Peter Parker, Daily Bugle employee, or a young Kurt Connors or Otto Octavius. One possibility that has been thrown around is Starr portraying The Tinkerer, who has been rumored to appear in the film as an assistant to Michael Keaton's Vulture. The majority of the roles fans have been typecasting Starr in are more nerdy and scientific types given his past roles in both Silicon Valley and Freak and Geeks when he was younger.
Martin Starr Freaks and Geeks
THR on the other hand bring us the news of Marshall-Green's casting, with the actor reportedly set to appear as one of Spider-Man's villains in the film. The possibilities are endless of course, but given Green's age and physical shape he may be playing a villain such as Scorpion who is much more muscle than brains. We already know that Michael Keaton will be playing the yet to be confirmed main villain of the movie, but Marshall-Green could be appearing as a smaller threat Peter Parker has to deal with at some point in the plot.
Logan Marshall-Green Prometheus
As I stated above, Starr and Marshall-Green are joining an already stacked cast including Zendaya, Michael Barbieri, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Michael Keaton, Kenneth Choi, Donald Glover, Marisa Tomei, Robert Downey Jr., and of course Tom Holland. Director Jon Watts has recently spoken out about the film and the diversity of its cast in an interview for his new movie Clown. Watts explained the diversity by talking about how he felt Peter Parker's home of Queens needed to be accurately presented in the film, and he wanted his high school to reflect that. The director also remained tight lipped when asked about whether Donald Glover was playing Miles Morales, so I guess we'll have to wait for Marvel to let out an official press release for all this casting some time soon.

'Teen Wolf' Star Tyler Hoechlin Set To Play Superman In Season 2 Of 'Supergirl'

Tyler Hoechlin Superman
Following the success of both The Flash and Arrow on network TV, one would have expected for Supergirl to have had similar prosperity on a big channel like CBS. Well that wasn't exactly the case, as the show had a tough first season ratings wise and was ultimately given the axe by CBS. Thankfully for fans of the show, it has since been picked up by CW and will be given a second chance with an all new season set to premiere this Fall. The network has wasted no time making big changes to the show, as they've recently announced the inclusion of Superman in the first two episodes of season 2.

Up until this point the show has only made mention and shown silhouettes of the Man of Steel, who in the comics and presumably in the show is the cousin of Supergirl aka Kara Zor El. The show made an effort to keep Superman's face shrouded in mystery for the entire first season, and it seemed like they were going to keep it that way through the entire series. Yet with the announcement that he would be featured in the first two episodes of next season, its likely he will now play a much larger role in the narrative of the show.
Supergirl and Superman
EW were the ones who got the big scoop that Hoechlin who is known for his roles on Teen Wolf and in the recent Richard Linklater film Everybody Wants Some has landed the part. Hoechlin seems like a strong fit for the role, and previously had his name attached to the role of Bruce Wayne in Batman V. Superman, but lost out to the older Ben Affleck. Surely Hoechlin stayed on DC's list for any future roles, which is why he has now gotten the opportunity to play one of their characters according the producer Andrew Kreisberg.
Tyler Hoechlin Teen Wolf
Fans had voiced their support to see Tom Welling return as Superman as soon as the character was announced to appear in Supergirl. Welling is of course well known for playing the role on the hit CW series Smallville, where he played Clark Kent for ten seasons and became the version of the character many people of this generation identified with. While Welling himself never chimed in on the Supergirl rumors, fans are surely disappointed that they won't get to see him reprise the role and finally don the red cape.

So do you think Tyler Hoechlin fits the part of Superman? Would you have preferred to see Tom Welling reprise the role? Let us know below!

New 'Transformers: The Last Knight' Plot Details Emerge, And They're As Ridiculous As You'd Expect

Optimus Prime The Last Knight
Oh, the Transformers franchise. Where did you go wrong? Nevermind the falling out with Megan Fox, the recent antics of its former leading man Shia LaBeouf, and the unexplained recycling of footage by Michael Bay, but what are these movies even about anymore? We've come a long from a movie just about a boy in his car, as we'll now apparently be getting some magical elements in the Transformers universe. Yes you read that right, the Transformers will now apparently have some sort of ties to British mythology and the story of Merlin. Anyone who says these guys aren't running out of ideas is just lying to themselves at this point.

The new plot and character rumors for the fifth installment of the franchise which is titled Transformers: The Last Knight come to us via JoBlo. The site claims the movie will see Optimus Prime separated from the Autobots for the majority of the time while he is on his own mission back to their home planet of Cybertron. He eventually learns that he is the reason the planet is dead, and in typical Transformers' fashion, he must recover an artifact to bring it back to life.
Transformers Cybertron
Sounds simple enough, right? Well this is where things get weird. So apparently the artifact Optimus needs to retrieve has some sort of connection to the wizard Merlin, and it will be revealed that Merlin retrieved his magic upon a visit from a Transformer. Merlin may very well be the character Anthony Hopkins is playing, but there's other more probable choices I'll get to later in this article. It seems highly likely that the artifact may in fact be the famed sword Excalibur as it was even teased in the first promo image from the film.

As for characters, we don't know too much about the human characters just yet but we do know about the robots that will be featured. Bumblebee will be returning and taking on a leadership role amongst the Autobots in the absence of Optimus. Megatron will also be returning as the film's villain, much to the displeasure of most fans (Sorry, still no Unicron). The film will also feature several Transformers of English origin including an Aston Martin named Cogman and a Vespa named Squeaks. There will also be a character known as The Creator who is apparently responsible for the creation of the Transformers, and is most likely who Anthony Hopkins will be lending his voice to.

So what do you think of the plot and character details for Transformers: The Last Knight? Are you excited to see it, or do you feel the franchise has run its course? Let us know below!

Donald Glover Joins 'Spider-Man: Homecoming'; Could He Be Playing An Older Miles Morales?

Donald Glover Spider-Man: Homecoming
If I could only use two words to describe the Spider-Man: Homecoming cast right now, they would be talented and diverse. With the addition of a couple more unknown actors recently, another big name has joined the film and that's Childish Gambino himself Donald Glover (The Martian). Spider-Man fans will certainly remember how big of a fan Glover is of the character, and the huge campaign that started to get Sony to cast him as Peter Parker when the studio was working on The Amazing Spider-Man. Yet it seems Glover has now finally gotten his chance to star in a Spider-Man movie, and possibly wear a suit of his own.

The news comes courtesy of Deadline, who confirm that Glover is in talks to join the film in an unspecified role. As you can imagine given the actor's history with character, the internet has been rampant with rumors over who he could be playing. The most popular choice is of course Miles Morales, the half African American teenager who became the second Spider-Man in the comics. Morales was actually modeled after Glover himself and voiced by him in the Ultimate Spider-Man animated series, but is portrayed as a 13 year old in the comics which is a far cry for the thirty year old actor age wise.

Marvel could of course be taking some liberties with the character and have Miles as an older friend of Peter Parker who will eventually be bitten by the same radioactive spider, but this seems unlikely. The chances of seeing him play Morales are slim given rumors that Sony's upcoming animated Spider-Man movie will focus on Miles, the age difference between Glover and the character, and the recent introduction of Tom Holland's young Peter Parker .
Tom Holland Civil War Premiere
There are several other possible characters Glover could be playing, including villain turned ally Prowler who has been portrayed as the uncle of Miles Morales in the comics. There's also J. Jonah Jameson's right hand man at the Daily Bugle named Robbie Robertson, who Glover may be portraying a younger rendition of. Yet there's of course the chance that he'll be playing an entirely new character made up for Spider-Man: Homecoming, which is much more likely to be a teacher of Peter's rather than one of his high school class mates (He may look young, but not that young).

So what do you think of Donald Glover joining Spider-Man: Homecoming? Is there any particular character you would like to see him play? Let us know below!

Disney Finally Takes Us To The Pacific In The First Trailer For 'Moana' Starring The Rock

Disney Movie Moana
At a point during the last decade, it seemed like the days of classic Disney animation movies were behind us and had be replaced by a new age of CG animation. This was a tough pill to swallow for many Disney fans, and it appeared that their focus had shifted toward Pixar films rather than their own animated stories. Well that all changed during the last few years following the success of Frozen, and the recent critical acclaim for their film Zootopia. Its safe to say Disney is back on top, and we need to be looking out for any of their films in the next few years. One such film is Moana, which we now finally have a trailer for thanks to The Rock himself.

Below is the first trailer for Moana:

The trailer doesn't give us too much information about the plot, but it does introduce us to the film's two main characters; Moana (Played by newcomer Auli'i Cravalho) and The Rock's Maui. Thanks to a plot synopsis released by Disney, we now know that the film will focus on Moana who is the ancestor of the world's greatest sailors who journey across the island of Oceana 3,000 years ago. Yet their journeys suddenly stopped for unknown reasons, and Moana now sets out to finish what they had started along with her new friends the demi-god Maui, a pig named Pua, and a chicken named Hei Hei.
Hei Hei Moana
On the surface it seems like a relatively simple family friendly plot, but know Disney we're sure to get a much deeper narrative than we're expecting. There's also a great deal of talent involved with this film including directors Ron Clements and John Musker who are famous for their work on the Disney classics The Little Mermaid and Aladdin. So as you can imagine the movie will of course have singing involved, with Hamilton's Lin Manuel Miranda working on the film's music.
Lin Manuel Miranda Moana
There are several other talented people involved with the film including current Disney favorite Alan Tudyk providing a voice after his work on Wreck-It-Ralph, Frozen, Big Hero 6, and Zootopia. Philip Soo of Hamilton fame will also be providing a voice as a villager named Motunui.  The film's script was also worked on by Pamela Ribon (Samantha Who?), Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok), and Jared Bush (Zootopia) alongside directors Musker and Clements. Below is the first poster for the film which was released just a few days before the trailer:

First Batch of 'Wolverine 3' Set Photos, X-23 Character Details, And Possible Titles Revealed

Chances are that if you've seen X-Men: Apocalypse by now, you're very curious as to what the future of the X-Men universe has in store for you. Well the frustrating truth is most of it remains shrouded in mystery, and while we've heard certain movies are in the works such as Gambit, New Mutants, Deadpool 2, and Wolverine 3, we haven't really gotten any details about any of those movies. Well at least up until this point, as we may finally have some solid information about what we can expect from Hugh Jackman's final film as Wolverine.

First off, new set photos have emerged showing us a much more grizzled and older looking version of Jackman's Wolverine along with sickly looking Charles Xavier (Played in this film by Patrick Stewart). We've known for some time that Stewart would be reprising his role as Xavier in the film, but we still aren't sure just how important his role will be. Well what is most interesting about these set photos is the little girl shown with a gun shot wound aside Wolverine, who apparently may be famed X-Men character X-23 who was teased in the post-credits scene of Apocalypse. Take a look at the set photos for your self below:
Now first off, despite what most fan may be thinking when they see the grey haired Wolverine featured in these set photos, the film apparently won't adapt the famed Old Man Logan storyline. While it was rumored that Fox was interested in doing so, their lack of rights to the characters from the original storyline and the complications it would bring likely led to them passing on the opportunity. Although the film's actual plot still remains shrouded in mystery, it will in fact feature an older Logan alongside Xavier and possibly X-23. Two rumored titles for the film are Weapon X or Wolverine: Weapon X, which was the title given to Wolverine when he was experimented on.
As for the rumors about X-23, the character may in fact be the little girl we see in these set photos. X-23 was teased in the end credits scene of X-Men: Apocalypse, and it seemed like Fox was setting up for the character as a replacement now that Hugh Jackman is taking his final turn as Wolverine. The Hashtag Show claim to have gotten their hands on a leaked description for a character named Zoe who they believe may actually be X-23. Not only does the description below fit the characteristics of a young X-23, but she also fits the characteristics of the girl featured alongside Jackman in those set photos. You can read the character breakdown below:

  • Code Name: Zoe
  • 12-to-15 year-old girl
  • A pound puppy, raised in captivity in a time of battle, without support systems of a normal childhood.
  • She has no family and until now, has never left the compound in which she was born.
  • She has an authentic intensity - Her expressions & body language speak volumes, without words.
  • Once released in the outside world, everything is new, every experience and every image a first.
  • This does not mean everything is wonderful or wonderous. Some thing she sees (things we might regard as conventional) may scare her or anger her and things we may find interesting may bore her.
  • She has not been instructed in many social conventions - she can eat like an animal. She studies and often mimics people's behavior.
  • She has a high IQ, but is also a temperamental, impuslive and feral creature that can raise genuine mayhem.
  • She is a girl that has never been kissed. Looking for a real girl - not made up or done up. Also with genuine edge, not made up or put on.
  • Martial arts or gymnastics experience preferred but not necessary - but actress must be extremely physical and able to improvise scenes without necessarily resorting to speech. Do not play it "cute."
While all of this is speculation until proven otherwise, the pieces seem to come together as far as all these rumors and set photos go. If X-23 is in fact portrayed as a little girl in the film this will be a pretty drastic change from the comics, and the character has always been portrayed as an adult or adolescent in the comics. None the less, director James Mangold may be taking this liberty with the character so that she fits better with the film's storyline, and it would certainly make her usable for the future of the X-Men franchise. We don't know who the villain of the film is yet, but two possible candidates are Mr. Sinister (Who was also teased in the post credits scene) or Dr. Abraham Cornelius from the famed Death of Wolverine storyline, either of which may be responsible for creating X-23. The film is also rumored to feature the villainous group of Reavers, whose leader may be the character Boyd Holbrook (Narcos) is playing.
So are you excited for Wolverine 3? Are you okay with X-23 possibly appearing as a young girl in the X-Men universe? Let us know below!
