Jim Carrey To Appear On The Office Season Finale, Could He Be The New Boss?

As most Office fans may and should know, Steve Carell will be leaving the show after this season, but that doesn't mean the show has to come to a close. The hunt has begun for a replacement for boss Michael Scott, and tons of popular comedic actors have already been confirmed to guest star including Ray Romano, Will Ferrell, Ricky Gervais, and now Jim Carrey. But the question is, out of all these stars who will stay around to be the new boss on The Office.

Will Ferrell has already deputed as character Deangelo Vickers, and while must fans have already decided that he's probably going to get the job, six other characters are set to also be applying for the job, and all of them are played by comedic actors (Some more comedic then others). The list of guest stars is as follows:

  • Will Arnett
  • Ricky Gervais
  • Ray Romano
  • Catherine Tate
  • James Spader
  • Will Ferrell
  • Jim Carrey
Well it's pretty obvious that out of these contenders, Ricky Gervais will not stick around because he plays Michael Scott in the UK version of The Office. Jim Carrey has a big career in movies, and while some of his latest haven't exactly been a success (A Christmas Carol, I Love You Philip Morris) he's still focusing on a film career, and I'm pretty sure he won't suddenly switch to television. I think Ferrell really being put as a distraction so that viewers believe he's Scott's replacement when he's actually not and will get the job stolen from right under his nose with one of the other contenders.

So that basically leaves it down to Romano, Arnett, Tate, and Spader. And I don't mean to be sexist here, but I'd personally prefer a male replacement for Carell rather than a female, so I personally wouldn't really want to see Tate in the role. I'd be a happy supporter of Romano, because I love Everybody Loves Raymond (Ironic) but I don't know how well he'd go along with the rest of The Office's supporting cast. Well whoever does get the role, I really hope they bring the same humor to their character as Carell did for his, and I know all of these actors will help make The Offices season finale much more enjoyable.

Who do you think would be a good replacement for Carell? Do you like Jim Carrey for the part?
